Getting Started at The Fabric Shop Arizona

Fabric Upholstery

There’s something exciting about seeing an empty space turn into something full of color, creativity, and purpose.

I recently got the keys to our new shop—4440 Hwy 95, Unit C, Fort Mohave, AZ—and it still feels a little surreal! It’s a blank canvas now, but not for long. Our first shipment of fabric has arrived, and we’re officially in setup mode.

I’ve been spending time at the shop sorting through the bolts and figuring out where everything will go. It’s a bit of a mess right now (in the best way possible!), but progress is happening little by little.

One of the best parts? My mom has been helping me set everything up. It means a lot to share this moment with her and have an extra set of hands.

Swipe through the photos to see the before, and a little glimpse of the during. Can’t wait to show you the after!

If you’re local and want to follow along, I’ll be posting updates on Facebook and Instagram @TheFabricShopArizona. Come take a peek as we get closer to opening!

Big news—I finally found a home for the fabric shop!

Our new location is 4440 Hwy 95, Unit C, Fort Mohave, Arizona 86426. It feels so good to finally say that! This has been a dream in the making, and I’m thrilled to be planting roots right here in the Tri-State area.

Our first shipment of beautiful fabrics has arrived, and let me tell you—they’re even better than I imagined! Bolts of color, texture, and inspiration are now filling the shop. 🧵✨

Right now, we’re in organization mode. As eager as I am to open the doors and welcome you in, I want to make sure everything is displayed beautifully and easy to browse. There’s still a bit of sorting and setting up to do, but we’re getting there!

In the meantime, if you’re curious or just can’t wait to see what’s coming, follow me on Instagram and Facebook! I’ll be posting behind-the-scenes updates, sneak peeks, and letting you know when I’m at the shop—so if you’re in the neighborhood, feel free to stop by and say hi. I’d love to meet you!

Stay tuned, and thank you for being part of this journey. I can’t wait to share the next chapter with you—one stitch at a time. 🪡💛

    Back-to-school Fashion

    lilith · March 29, 2025 ·

Looking to stand out this school year with fun, fashionable looks that don’t break the bank? Whether you’re a student, parent, or creative DIYer, back-to-school fashion is the perfect opportunity to get crafty—and fabric is your secret weapon!

At our fabric store Fort Mohave, Arizona, we carry high-quality fabrics at unbeatable prices, perfect for sewing your own back-to-school outfits and accessories. Here’s how to use fabric to upgrade your fall wardrobe with style and personality.

    1. DIY Backpacks and Tote Bags with Durable Fabric

Say goodbye to mass-produced backpacks and hello to custom bags made with love. Use sturdy fabrics like canvas, denim, or cotton duck to sew one-of-a-kind backpacks or totes. Add bright linings, zippers, and your favorite prints to stand out in the hallways. These DIY bags are not only stylish—they’re built to last the school year and beyond.

SEO Tip: Keywords like “DIY fabric backpack” or “how to make a custom tote bag” are commonly searched in August and September.

    2. Sew Trendy Back-to-School Skirts and Pants

Plaid, corduroy, and soft knit fabrics are trending this season. Sew your own skirts, wide-leg pants, or joggers for a fashion-forward look. Don’t be afraid to mix textures and patterns—bold is in!

Great keyword use here includes: “DIY back-to-school outfits,” “how to sew trendy fall clothes,” and “custom fabric fashion.”

    3. Make Your Own Hair Accessories with Fabric Scraps

One of the best ways to use leftover fabric is to create scrunchies, headbands, and bows. They’re easy, quick projects that add flair to any back-to-school look. Plus, they make great handmade gifts for friends.

Popular search terms: “how to make scrunchies,” “DIY headbands for school,” and “easy fabric accessories.”

    4. Layer with Handmade Fall Fashion Staples

Cool mornings and warm afternoons make layers essential. Sew cozy cardigans, hoodies, or scarves using fleece, French terry, or flannel. These transitional pieces add comfort and style to any outfit.

Target search keywords: “fall fashion DIY,” “how to make fleece cardigans,” and “layered outfits with fabric.”

    5. Sew Personalized Masks and Pouches for School

Safety can be stylish too! Make fabric face masks, pencil cases, or sanitizer pouches in prints that match your outfits. Use cotton fabric or cotton-poly blends for comfort and breathability.

Hot keywords: “DIY school mask,” “custom sanitizer pouch,” and “fabric face masks for kids.”

Why Fabric Is the Key to Creative Back-to-School Style

Sewing your own clothes and accessories lets you express your personality, save money, and create high-quality pieces that last. Whether you’re a beginner or seasoned sewist, fabric gives you unlimited creative freedom.

At our family-owned fabric shop in Bullhead City, we’ve been helping customers create amazing projects for over 30 years. Now serving the Mohave community, we offer a huge selection of fabrics—plus guidance, patterns, and friendly advice to help you get started.

This school year, skip the mall and create your own style. Visit our fabric store today and bring your back-to-school fashion ideas to life!
